The flexible seating options and sensory tools are now a natural part of our daily routines. During individualized reading and math service blocks, students choose the seating that helps them feel regulated and ready to learn—whether that's a wobble stool for movement, a floor cushion for comfort, or a balance seat for sustained focus. One of the most meaningful moments came during a small‑group phonics lesson: a student who often struggles with anxiety used a sensory fidget and chose a calming floor cushion, then completed an entire activity with confidence. It was a huge victory for him, and it showed how the right supports can unlock a child's potential.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were excited, curious, and immediately engaged. Many of them experience sensory challenges, and you should have seen the relief on their faces as they explored the calming bottles, textured fidgets, and quiet corner tools. Several students who typically need frequent breaks now initiate their own regulation strategies by choosing a sensory tool or taking a few minutes in the calming space—something we've been working on as part of their IEP goals. Their independence and self‑advocacy have grown in just a short time.\r\nThese new resources will continue to support our next steps as we work on individual learning goals, emotional regulation strategies, and functional academic skills. We're beginning a new unit focused on building independence through structured tasks and hands‑on learning, and the flexible seating and sensory supports will help students stay engaged and successful during these activities. Your kindness hasn't just provided materials—it has created a safe, inclusive environment where exceptional learners feel valued, supported, and capable each day. Thank you for believing in our students and for making our resource classroom a place where growth truly happens.","fullyFundedDate":1758862027037,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-and-essential-supplies/9758280/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating and Essential Supplies for Exceptional Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Porter","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp5081697_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1611590075517","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/5081697"},{"teacherId":7733267,"projectId":9520899,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping to create math mathematicians in my classroom.
