They provide students with appropriate and accessible text that is also high-interest and engaging. This grant is especially meaningful to me because decodable books help support the Science of Reading instruction. \r\n\r\nThe children have really loved reading these decodable books so far! One reluctant student said, \"This is my favorite book!\" after reading one of these new decodables about trucks. This student has previously said, \"I can't read\" every time I bring out books. Having students engaged with accessible text is the first step in helping struggling students make growth in reading.
