The Richeson warm and cool tempera cakes gave PreK–2 students a high-quality, low-mess way to explore color without frustration. We built routines quickly—dip, swirl, swipe—and suddenly even hesitant painters were confidently layering warm reds and yellows for \"sunset skies,\" then shifting to cool blues and greens for \"ocean moods.\" The palettes made color theory tangible: students could see how warm colors advance and cool colors recede, and then use that language in their artwork and reflections.\r\n\r\nThe excitement has been contagious. One kindergartner announced, \"Warm colors feel like a hug!\" while another said, \"Cool colors make my picture breathe.\" Students practiced fine-motor control, learned to rinse and reload thoughtfully, and collaborated by trading warm/cool trays like real studio artists. The cakes' rich pigment and easy reactivation meant we spent less time on cleanup and more time creating—critical for short elementary art blocks and for including every learner, including English language learners and students with sensory needs.\r\n\r\nYour gift did more than stock supplies; it created positive first art experiences that build confidence for years to come. Thank you for helping us make beautiful, meaningful work—and for showing our youngest learners that their ideas are worth bright, bold color.","fullyFundedDate":1675984587166,"projectUrl":"project/fabulous-warm-cool-paint-palettes/7153644/","projectTitle":"Fabulous Warm & Cool Paint Palettes!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Victoria Sylvestre","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6245343_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1743629791637","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/sylvestre"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_126385","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":667,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":18,"percentAsian":4,"percentBlack":4,"percentWhite":74,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":12,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":false,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"RURAL","ncesMetroType":"RURAL_FRINGE"},"inStateSupporters":83.9,"schoolId":126385,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Chatham Grove Elementary School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Chatham Grove Elementary School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/chatham-county-school-district/chatham-grove-elementary-school/126385"}
