This unit was created to do more than just improve reading comprehension; it was built to encourage analytical skills. Your funding provided the novels and the materials necessary for our mock trial and allowed students to track evidence throughout the entirety of the novel to work towards solving a murder mystery. Students assumed roles as attorneys, witnesses, and jurors. This required them to synthesize hundreds of pages of text into actionable legal strategies, teaching them the importance of due process and objective reasoning. Your investment has sparked a newfound enthusiasm for reading in students who previously struggled to engage with literature. By providing the resources to make learning collaborative and fun, you have helped us create a core memory that these students will carry with them throughout their academic careers.","fullyFundedDate":1751933922088,"projectUrl":"project/novel-unit/9431416/","projectTitle":"Novel Unit","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Graham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045956_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750935440127","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045956"},{"teacherId":10053573,"projectId":9756759,"letterContent":"Thank you for making our vision a reality.\r\n\r\nBecause of your generosity, our department now has a 3-panel display wall that transforms the way our students share their art. What was once limited to classroom walls or temporary setups is now a professional, gallery-style experience—one that honors the creativity, effort, and voice of each student artist.\r\n\r\nThis display wall is more than just a structure; it's the foundation of a new annual tradition. Our students will have the opportunity to curate and present their work in a way that mirrors real-world exhibitions. For many of them, this is the first time they see their art presented so thoughtfully and professionally, and that moment can be incredibly powerful. It builds confidence, validates their hard work, and inspires them to keep creating.\r\n\r\nYour support is helping students feel seen. It's helping them take pride in their ideas and understand that their voices matter. You've given them not just a place to display their work, but a reason to believe in it!\r\n\r\nWe are deeply grateful for your investment in our classroom and in the creative journeys of our students. It's heart warming to see it being used on a daily basis. As our second quarter begins, I have already began to run low on some of the necessities like deodorant, hair brushes, and hair ties, which I plan to keep restocking. Additionally, with the pause on SNAP benefits this month, the snack section of my shelf has been a blessing to a large handful of kids in my class. I keep this part stocked every day. \r\nI truly find that this hygiene center has created a space for students that feels safe, welcoming, and lets them know that they are cared for loudly. This could not have been done without people like you who have the heart to give to students they have never met. So for that, I thank you a thousand times over. It can never be put into words how grateful I and my students are for this incredible blessing and critical aspect to our school.","fullyFundedDate":1755628612719,"projectUrl":"project/fresh-start-bright-future/9594165/","projectTitle":"Fresh Start, Bright Future","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Graham","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10045956_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750935440127","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10045956"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_2220","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":1151,"numTeachers":80,"percentFrplEligible":75,"percentAsian":1,"percentBlack":11,"percentWhite":62,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":19,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":5,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"14.4:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"SUBURBAN","ncesMetroType":"SUBURB_MIDSIZE"},"inStateSupporters":79.2,"schoolId":2220,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Southern Alamance High School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Southern Alamance High School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/north-carolina/alamance-burlington-school-system/southern-alamance-high-school/2220"}
