Having books readily available gives students more opportunities to discover what they enjoy and develop confidence as readers.\r\n\r\nFor our multilingual learners, reading is about much more than understanding words on a page. We use texts and illustrations to build vocabulary, identify characters and their emotions, make predictions, understand story structure, and connect language with visual meaning. These skills help students strengthen their English proficiency while developing critical thinking and comprehension.\r\n\r\nOur classroom is becoming a place where reading is not simply an assignment, but an opportunity for exploration and personal choice. My sixth graders were so excited to see the new resources! Their smiles, excitement, and curiosity reminded me just how much the little things can make a big difference. The snacks and treats have been wonderful incentives for students who demonstrate positive behavior, work hard, and stay focused. The fidgets have also been helpful for students who need a little extra support with concentrating during lessons and independent work.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite parts of this project has been watching my students become more excited about our classroom. The new books are helping me encourage a love for reading, while the bookshelf and storage materials allow me to create a more organized space where students can easily access the resources they need. As a sixth-grade ELA teacher, one of my biggest goals is to help students become confident readers and develop positive learning habits. The snacks have already made a meaningful difference for our athletes during practices and meets. Track and field requires a tremendous amount of energy, and having snacks available helped our athletes refuel before and after competing. It was especially rewarding to see teammates sharing snacks and encouraging one another throughout the day. It helped create a stronger sense of teamwork and made our athletes feel supported both on and off the track.\r\n\r\nAlthough the starting blocks and jump ropes arrived after our last track meet, our athletes are extremely excited to begin using them during upcoming practices. The starting blocks will give our sprinters the opportunity to work on proper positioning, reaction time, acceleration, and technique. The jump ropes will also become an important part of our warm-ups and conditioning as we work on coordination, foot speed, endurance, and overall athleticism.\r\n\r\nThe athletes were very excited when they saw the new equipment! They immediately started asking when they would be able to use the starting blocks and jump ropes. Even though the supplies arrived after our final meet, the team understood that these resources will help them prepare for future seasons and become better athletes.\r\n\r\nThe snacks were an immediate hit. Our athletes appreciated having something available to help them stay energized throughout practices and competitions. It was great to see how something as simple as providing snacks could make such a positive impact on the athletes' experience. The excitement surrounding the new equipment has also given us something to look forward to as we begin preparing for the next track season.\r\n\r\n\r\nOur next steps are focused on preparing our athletes for the upcoming track season. We will begin incorporating the starting blocks into sprint training so our athletes can develop stronger starts and improve their acceleration. We will also use the jump ropes as part of our warm-ups, conditioning, and footwork drills.\r\n\r\nWe will continue tracking individual progress in events such as the 100-meter, 200-meter, 400-meter, 800-meter, relays, long jump, and shot put. Our goal is not only to improve times and distances, but also to help our athletes develop discipline, confidence, teamwork, and a strong work ethic. Because the starting blocks and jump ropes arrived after our last meet, our athletes are especially excited to put them to work during our next training cycle. These resources will help us start the next season stronger and better prepared.\r\n\r\nI am extremely grateful to the donors who supported our track team.
