Collaboration Stations
Funded Aug 22, 2018The students were thrilled when they walked into class to see new tables! Another teacher was so impressed that she gifted us with two more tables. Your generosity has allowed us to develop more meaningful conversations in our math class.
With the previous tables, there were students who had to straddle a set of table legs or work at a pointed corner. This kept them from being able to pay full attention to their task. Now that students can sit comfortably side by side, they are no longer looking at manipulative at an angle or from a distance since their chair will not slide due to a set of table legs.
I wish that you could hear the collaboration that takes place in the classroom! Our room is filled with students using correct math vocabulary, students explaining their thinking and understanding, and self-confidence. I thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing my students to be able to have new tables!”

Mrs. Neal

Funded Nov 29, 2014We are so excited to see our first sprouts today. We planted beets, turnips, bell peppers, tomatoes, melons, squash, cucumbers, carrots, and Swiss chard exactly one week ago. We planted these in soil and placed them in the greenhouse. When we went out to check on the seedlings this morning, we had 6 turnip sprouts! The students were thrilled.
The germination of the seeds that we will plant in our hydroponic tank were started on Friday of last week. We watered and plugged up our heating may. Today we have two tiny beets that have sprouted.
We are liking forward to transplanting our seedlings as they get some size to them. Some will be housed in the hydroponic tank and some will be housed outside with natural light and soil.
The students are excited to see how well we can do for the remainder of the year. We have decided that our first harvest will be for us to try. The remainder of our harvest will go to local food banks as originally planned. Some students are excited to register for their high school courses and have looked into the AG classes so that they can further their knowledge of plants. I am hoping it will continue so that they find college courses and possibly careers!
Thank you for your support!”

Science Leaders
Funded Nov 26, 2014The students are loving the hands-on kits that you helped to provide. We have explored circuits and electricity for the past several weeks. The "Oohs" and "Ahhh" coming from my room have made others want to joIn us.
I greatly appreciate your support. All students should be so lucky to be as engaged as my students. We will begin exploring other topics through the remainIng kits. They are looking forward to the DNA kits.
I have seen an interest in science that was not there before the kits arrived. We may have created the future Nobel Peace recipient!!”

Mrs. Neal
