We watch the short educational video that is provided with each magazine & then dive into our magazines. In addition to learning information that is grade-level appropriate, we use the magazines to find sight words & letters. Some kids are ready to begin reading some of the sentences on their own, as well, and it gives them immense pride. \r\nWe use the back page as independent practice of skills learned. \r\nThe online component also provides a game and 'dance break' for each magazine that the kids truly love. \r\nBringing the magazines home allows them to show their families all that they learned for an additional home-school connection piece. \r\nI laminate extra copies of the magazines & place them in our class library so the kids can re-read them during independent reading time and we're also using them during our non-fiction unit in reading & writing as reference. \r\nWithout your donation all of these wonderful opportunities would not be possible, so on behalf of my students, a great big THANK YOU & much appreciation for helping everyone grow!","fullyFundedDate":1764722580427,"projectUrl":"project/magical-magazines-for-little-learners/9610956/","projectTitle":"Magical Magazines For Little Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Drake","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1418198_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1613822453296","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1418198"},{"teacherId":4060229,"projectId":9615092,"letterContent":"My class and I wanted to say \"Thank You\" for your donation that helped to fund my project, \"Science Fun!\". It is more than just a magazine, it incorporates technology with it's online components (learning games, informational video clips, movement, teacher resources, experiments, etc...) \"Let's Find Out\" is geared to make science and social studies educational and fun for little learners. I have paid for this subscription myself in most of my 28 years teaching, because I know it also incorporates NYS learning standards in Reading and ELA as well. \r\n\r\nIn closing, thank you! I work in a very diverse and low socio-economic community. My school district has suffered budget cuts that have impacted many of our programs, student resources and cuts in staff.
