Adding the series to our classroom library has also increased independent reading time. Students often recommend their favorite book in the series to each other, which has created a stronger reading community. This allowed us to implement financial literacy, positive behavior, and community. We were ecstatic to see a financial institution took interest in our listing!\r\n\r\nStudents in our building have the opportunity to receive $1, $2, or $5 for their positive actions in the building. Not just good grades. When students see the items in the school store they are now pushed to count, add, or multiply the money (fake money) they have earned to what they can purchase. Here they also learn when they have enough or need to save for the product they want. \r\n\r\nSeeing the items for the store is a big incentive for students to choose and think what positive actions can they display to earn money. \r\n\r\nThis leads to a sense of community also, because we hold whole school events that families are also allowed to join to promote why we are doing PBIS in our school.
