The Toniebox listening center has quickly become one of the most loved and impactful parts of our day.\r\n\r\nWhen the Toniebox was first introduced, my students were beyond excited—jumping up and down and cheering \"Toniebox time!\" It instantly created a sense of joy and anticipation around reading. Now, whenever it's available as a center, it is *the* spot everyone wants to be. Students eagerly choose their figurine, place it on the box, and settle in with their headphones, ready to listen and follow along. One of the most special moments has been watching students take ownership of their learning—independently selecting stories, tracking along, and fully engaging with the text. Even students with diverse learning needs are drawn to the Toniebox and confidently participate, which has been incredibly meaningful to see.\r\n\r\nThis listening center has provided opportunities that aren't always possible during our busy school day. Students are building important skills like listening comprehension, fluency, and tracking in a way that feels fun, accessible, and empowering. The independence it offers has made a huge difference in both engagement and confidence.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to make the Toniebox a consistent, daily part of our literacy centers. I'm excited to continue expanding our figurine library so students can explore a wider variety of stories and genres. We will also begin connecting the stories they listen to with our comprehension work and writing activities—using story themes, characters, and settings as inspiration for discussions and written responses.\r\n\r\nThis has truly become a staple in our classroom—one that students love, look forward to, and learn from every single day.
