When teens are faced with the reality of challenges outside of school....family problems, unstable housing, community violence....finding the intrinsic motivation for school work often does not take priority. \r\n\r\nYour donation has gone a LONG way in helping students with extrinsic motivation. Being able to work towards the goal of a treat- candy, chips, drink- has much more of an impact than you would know! I wish I could show you the reactions the first time I opened the \"Mystery Mission\" cabinet full of the rewards you donated! These were not the tiny lollipops that I could afford to fund myself. These were snacks that were worth the effort to try to win! The first words I hear in class are often \"what is the Mystery Mission today?\" \r\n\r\nOur class \"Mystery Missions\" have included everything as attainable to being in class on-time, to being entered into a raffle for every successful paragraph written. Typically, students are entered into a raffle for meeting the Mystery Mission goal and a few names are picked each class. Students can then pick their reward. \r\n\r\nIn addition to helping with motivation, the Mystery Mission rewards that you have so kindly donated, have contributed to a growing sense of community in our classroom. The rewards have helped our class to feel like a family working together towards a common goal. This means so much to myself and the students!\r\n\r\nThank you for your support!
