I try to build in art therapy into my work with students at Early College International High School. I find that student open up more during my session when we engage in art projects. They are also allowed to take home their creations. The supplies purchased will allow me to do more creative things with them, including auroma therapy tins. The students were very excited to see some of the new paint pens and canvases purchased. The Kodak Printomatic Cameras were a huge hit. Students loved snapping pictures with friends, capturing school events, and adding instant prints to their Senior Time Capsules. It was so much fun watching them get creative with their photos, decorating their boxes, and reminiscing about their time together. Instead of just scrolling through digital memories, they now have something real and tangible to look back on for years to come.\r\n\r\nOne of the best parts of this project was seeing how excited the students were to use the cameras. Some carried them around daily, making sure to document even the little moments, while others saved them for big milestones. A few students even started a mini tradition of swapping photos with friends to include in each other's time capsules. Many of them took extra care in selecting and printing photos that truly represented their high school experience. Some students made collages, while others filled their time capsules with snapshots of their friends, teachers, and favorite places around the school.
