My students absolutely love this new addition to our classroom, and it has quickly become a resource we use in so many meaningful ways. During our math intervention groups, students use the rug to explore number patterns, practice skip counting, and strengthen their number sense in an interactive, hands-on way. It has been wonderful to see their excitement as they discover patterns and make connections between numbers. What makes this resource even more special is that its uses extend beyond math! Thanks to your support, we were able to purchase art supplies that allowed us to host our very first art show!\r\n\r\nAll the supplies I bought were black light reactive, so during the show, all the students' projects would glow, highlighting the vibrant colors they used.\r\n\r\nHere's a glimpse of the projects displayed:\r\n\r\n- Kindergarten students created leaves using Neon Kwik Stix.\r\n- First graders made mushrooms and hiking trails using neon markers, Kwik Stix, and paper.\r\n- Second graders crafted forest animals living in tree-hole homes using watercolor.\r\n- Third graders made cicadas using neon markers and Kwik Stix.\r\n- Fourth graders created moths using neon oil pastels.\r\n- Fifth graders made woodland wolves, foxes, and bears using neon watercolors and colored pencils.\r\n\r\nWe also had clay projects: K-snakes, 1st-grade lily pads, 2nd-grade owls, 3rd-grade dragonflies, 4th-grade salamanders, and 5th-grade pumpkinseed fish. These clay projects were painted with neon tempera and watercolors.\r\n\r\nThe art show was a resounding success. We transformed a section of our cafeteria into an art gallery by \"walling off\" it with bulletin board paper. The supplies you donated truly helped create this magical transformation, and the students, parents, and staff were all amazed by the glowing forest that emerged.\r\n\r\nI am incredibly grateful to everyone who donated.
