We were so collectively excited to use these during our chemistry unit because we were able to observe first hand how our bodies can conduct electricity and discover how electrons flow through circuits which help us to further understand that living organisms can conduct energy through our skin and across our bodies.\r\n\r\nThese energy sticks were a great start for teaching our students about different forms of energy and the difference between conductors and insulators. The students were immersed in this STEM activity and not only were they engaged by the lights and sounds that the sticks emitted but they also sparked curiosity which encouraged them to become very creative in designing groups of human circuits. It was so fun!! \r\n\r\nBy exploring alternative pathways that the electrons travelled, students were continually motivated to keep exploring by the various color lights that flashed and buzzing sounds created which supported collaboration and communication between the student groups. This was such an exciting and great hands-on STEM investigation project that truly did benefitted our students to further understand our current unit of study and how they think about the different forms of energy that is transferred in our life.","fullyFundedDate":1765921204278,"projectUrl":"project/educational-entertaining-experimenti/9898664/","projectTitle":"Educational, Entertaining, & Experimenting with Electricity!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Kurz-Porretto","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp2906653_272x272.png?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1451422281458","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2906653"},{"teacherId":1003082,"projectId":9857776,"letterContent":"We can't thank you enough for your generous donation. The carpet became a space where students felt more relaxed and willing to participate. Many gravitated toward it during group work, discussions, and math talks, finding it easier to focus and collaborate without the rigid structure of desks. The simple act of choosing where to sit gave students a sense of ownership over their learning environment, fostering independence and responsibility.\r\n\r\nBeyond comfort, the carpet seating encouraged peer interaction and inclusivity. Students who were often shy or hesitant to contribute at their desks became more vocal when seated on the carpet, as the space felt less formal and more inviting. It also supported a variety of learning styles—some students preferred lying down while reading or using manipulatives on the floor during math activities, which helped them stay engaged longer. The dynamic seating arrangement allowed for smooth transitions between whole-group instruction, small-group collaboration, and independent work.\r\n\r\nOverall, flexible seating transformed the classroom atmosphere from a traditional teacher-centered layout to a student-centered one. The carpet area became the heart of the classroom—a place where students gathered to share ideas, problem-solve together, and build stronger connections with one another. It not only improved classroom culture but also had a positive effect on focus, collaboration, and student confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1758636708045,"projectUrl":"project/comfort-corners-flexible-seating-for-ca/9651412/","projectTitle":"Comfort Corners: Flexible Seating for Calm and Focused Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Pukhkiy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8401707_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1649037655938","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8401707"},{"teacherId":8401707,"projectId":9671066,"letterContent":"The iPad has been an incredible tool in my math classroom, transforming the way I teach and the way students engage with lessons. By having a mobile device, I am no longer confined to the front of the classroom or tied to a whiteboard. Instead, I can walk around the room, check in with students, and give immediate feedback while still controlling the lesson. This mobility allows me to interact with students more personally, noticing where they may be struggling and supporting them in real time without breaking the flow of the class.\r\n\r\nAnother major benefit has been the ability to quickly capture and share student work. With just a snap of a picture, I can project a student's solution for the entire class to see and discuss. This has encouraged students to take ownership of their learning, as they know their strategies might be highlighted and celebrated. It also makes math more collaborative—students get to see multiple approaches to the same problem, compare strategies, and learn from one another's thinking. By making their work visible in such an immediate way, the iPad helps build confidence, fosters discussion, and strengthens problem-solving skills across the classroom.\r\n\r\nOverall, the iPad has created a more dynamic and interactive math environment. It bridges the gap between instruction and collaboration by allowing me to move freely, support students individually, and showcase the diverse thinking happening in the room. This simple but powerful tool has made teaching more efficient and learning more engaging, helping students see math not just as problems on a page, but as something they can actively share, discuss, and explore together.","fullyFundedDate":1758058669641,"projectUrl":"project/iteach-on-the-move/9671066/","projectTitle":"iTeach on the Move","teacherDisplayName":"Dr. Pukhkiy","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8401707_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1649037655938","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8401707"},{"teacherId":2906653,"projectId":9690916,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for the donation of a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card.
