The materials came at just the right time, with a few months of cold weather making Library Open Access a very popular option for students during recess. \r\n While students have certainly loved all of the supplies, the beading and knitting supplies have been especially popular. It's been really exciting to see students teaching each other how to crochet, problem solve, and think creatively. Students have also shown determination in trying out something new and not getting frustrated when something doesn't work quite right. \r\n My personal favorite supply has been watching students play Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza (in English and Spanish!) which involves students acting out the motions of a narwhal and a groundhog. It always makes me laugh when I see students playing and has been such a nice way to see students building social skills, team work and making each other laugh.","fullyFundedDate":1733125946996,"projectUrl":"project/build-our-maker-space-and-board-game-cor/8962545/","projectTitle":"Build Our Maker Space and Board Game Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Celia","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1583965"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1286","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":448,"numTeachers":39,"percentFrplEligible":93,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":0,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":97,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 8","studentTeacherRatio":"11.5:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":78.3,"schoolId":1286,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 89 Cypress Hills on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 89 Cypress Hills","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-89-cypress-hills-community-school/1286"}
