The addition of our new color printer and ink has completely transformed the way we teach, learn, and celebrate student success.\r\n\r\nBefore this project, printing materials in color was a rare treat. Now, my co-teacher and I can create engaging visual supports, anchor charts, graphic organizers, and individualized learning materials that help all of our students, especially those with learning disabilities, to access the curriculum more effectively. Visual cues and color-coded supports have made lessons more meaningful and easier to understand for every learner.\r\n\r\nIn our ICT classroom, inclusion and engagement are everything — and this printer has helped us do both. You've given us a tool that makes learning more vibrant, accessible, and joyful.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in our students and helping us create a classroom where every learner feels seen and supported.","fullyFundedDate":1758898866935,"projectUrl":"project/bringing-learning-to-life-with-color/9626372/","projectTitle":"Bringing Learning to Life with Color!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Bohr","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1953819_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755633954388","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1953819"},{"teacherId":10026453,"projectId":9333591,"letterContent":"In speech therapy, reading is an essential way to target communication and language goals, while also engaging the students. When introducing a new text, we focus on skill such as comprehension, inferencing, and vocabulary development. We work on identifying story elements , and using context clues to determine the meaning of unfamiliar words. Books provide amazing opportunities to answer wh- questions, retell stories, and expand sentences. \r\nReading during my sessions not only provide the students opportunities to listen, but also provides them with opportunities to talk about the pictures, describe what is happening, predict what may happen next, and connect the story to personal experiences. It's been amazing to see the students participate and become excited about learning. They helped unpack everything right away and couldn't wait to try them out. The reading area quickly became everyone's favorite spot, and students loved having the choice to sit comfortably while reading or writing. Their faces lit up as they realized they could use the lap desks anywhere in the room like on the carpet, near a friend, or in a quiet corner. It was awesome to see how proud and happy they were to have new materials just for them.\r\n\r\nWe've been using the soft seats daily during independent reading time. Students enjoy having a cozy and inviting place to get lost in a good book, and it's helped them focus and stay engaged longer. The lap desks have also become a classroom favorite during writing, allowing students to move around and find the best spot where they can think and write comfortably. These flexible options have made the classroom feel calmer, more welcoming, and more student-centered.\r\n\r\nNext, my students will be using the lap desks as we begin our expository essay writing unit. Having the freedom to choose a comfortable workspace helps them organize their thoughts and stay motivated to write. I'm so grateful to our donors for making this possible. The soft seats and lap desks have truly transformed our classroom into a warm, flexible learning environment that supports both focus and creativity every single day.","fullyFundedDate":1757635221933,"projectUrl":"project/flexible-seating-for-focused-and-engaged/9657300/","projectTitle":"Flexible Seating for Focused and Engaged Learners","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Musso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8661909_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756086533114","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8661909"},{"teacherId":8661909,"projectId":9657115,"letterContent":"Your generous donation of the color printer and laminator has already had a profound impact on our students' learning experience. In today's digital age, technology is essential in making learning more engaging and interactive, and your contribution has brought this to life in our classroom. The color printer allows us to produce eye-catching materials, such as anchor charts, graphs, worksheets, and even colorful flashcards that make abstract concepts more tangible and accessible for our students. It helps us break down complex lessons into visually appealing formats, which is particularly valuable for our visual learners and students with different learning styles.\r\n\r\nThe laminator, on the other hand, has made our classroom resources more durable, meaning we can reuse educational tools like flashcards, posters, and interactive learning aids year after year. This is not just a time-saver but also enhances the longevity of materials that are used every day, which is especially valuable in a busy classroom.\r\n\r\nThe most exciting part for our students is the ability to see their work printed in color and presented professionally. Many students take great pride in seeing their projects, posters, and even their own artwork transformed into something vibrant and tangible. This has boosted their confidence and sparked greater creativity in their work.\r\n\r\nIn particular, students who may have struggled with traditional methods of learning have especially warmed to the new technology. For example, students with special needs have benefited greatly from the colorful, tactile resources created by the printer and laminator. These tools have helped them engage in lessons in a way that feels more interactive and less intimidating. Furthermore, students who are passionate about graphic design or who enjoy creative projects now have an outlet to explore these interests, which has led to greater enthusiasm for their schoolwork.\r\n\r\nOverall, your donation has not only enhanced the learning environment but has also inspired students to approach their education with excitement and a sense of pride. Thank you for making such a meaningful difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1758898853325,"projectUrl":"project/bright-ideas-printed-in-color/9657115/","projectTitle":"Bright Ideas, Printed in Color","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Musso","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp8661909_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1756086533114","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8661909"},{"teacherId":2173912,"projectId":9307877,"letterContent":"We are so grateful for the generous gift of a Toniebox and its collection of story characters. In our 3K classroom, this technology has quickly become a powerful tool for supporting early literacy and engagement. While many of our students are still developing the skills needed to sit and listen to stories read aloud, the Toniebox provides them with an interactive and accessible way to experience books. Children are able to follow along with a storybook while listening to the narration, which helps build vocabulary, comprehension, and attention span. It also fosters independence, as students can choose a character, place it on the Toniebox, and begin their own story experience with just a touch. For young learners, this sense of ownership makes reading exciting and approachable.\r\n\r\nThe joy this new resource has brought to our students is remarkable. Many of our children rush over to the Toniebox during choice time, eager to select their favorite characters and stories. One of our more hesitant students, who often struggles to participate in whole-group activities, has especially warmed to the Toniebox; he enjoys sitting with peers to listen and follow along, giving him a way to connect socially while also building important early reading skills. The excitement and curiosity sparked by this technology have made it one of the most popular tools in our classroom, and we are thrilled to see how it is encouraging a love of stories from such a young age. Thank you for helping us create these joyful and meaningful learning experiences for our students.","fullyFundedDate":1746699675937,"projectUrl":"project/3k-3k-what-story-to-you-want-to-hear/9307877/","projectTitle":"3K, 3K, What Story to You Want to Hear?","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Ingino","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2173912_orig.jpg?crop=440,440,x193,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1629598403147","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ingino"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_908","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":681,"numTeachers":69,"percentFrplEligible":77,"percentAsian":8,"percentBlack":1,"percentWhite":28,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":60,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Pre-K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"9.9:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":82.5,"schoolId":908,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 88 Seneca on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 88 Seneca","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-88-seneca/908"}
