Recently, two schools joined together to create the new PS 185. The transition is exciting, but also a change. Many of my students struggle with change. In order to make the students feel more at home in their new classroom, we need some additional supplies. Seat cushions and other sensory materials would greatly help students who struggle to focus on activities. They often fidget while still participating in school instruction. A new easel is also necessary to make our classroom more efficient. Our current easel falls over if it is not held while writing, making it extremely difficult for students to write their own responses on it. These materials will help make our classroom a more welcoming place and create a more effective learning environment.
