The new seating choices have quickly become a big part of our everyday routine. We've been using them during our literacy and math blocks, and they've helped students work together more comfortably and make real progress on their own. One project that really stands out is our recent literacy unit about schools around the world. The flexible seating made such a difference—every student was able to fully participate, and it completely changed the vibe of our classroom.\r\n\r\nOne moment I'll always remember was when a group of students who usually struggle to stay focused suddenly became totally absorbed in their work. They each created an informational book to read to our kindergarten class about the most important things about schools and how schools around the world are the same and different. Seeing them so engaged—collaborating, problem-solving, and taking pride in their work—was such a powerful reminder of why these resources matter.\r\n\r\nThe kids were so excited when they first saw the new seating options. There were lots of wide eyes, whispers, and \"Can we use them today?!\" Many grabbed the cushions and chairs right away and found cozy spots to read. A few told me it \"felt like a real reading space,\" which meant so much because it showed how comfortable and at home they felt.\r\n\r\nWe're now moving into the next part of our literacy unit: learning about changes to our Earth. Students will be exploring fossils and discovering how and why our Earth changes over time. They'll be using the new seating options as they research and work together to create informational posters to share with our fifth graders. These resources make it so much easier for them to focus, collaborate, and feel confident.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in our classroom. Your support is already making a huge difference, and it will continue to shape our learning all year long.","fullyFundedDate":1758559159032,"projectUrl":"project/lets-have-a-seat/9741644/","projectTitle":"Let’s Have A Seat","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Washam","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp1514972_orig.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1758763225127","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/1514972"},{"teacherId":9539740,"projectId":9057172,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for supporting our \"Yummy Snacks\" project! Many were surprised that someone they had never met cared enough to support their learning in such a thoughtful way. They eagerly helped organize the boxes, treating the snacks like a special classroom treasure.\r\n\r\nThese snacks are already supporting our current lessons, whether it's powering through literacy centers, preparing for small-group reading time, or helping students stay focused during writing activities. As we continue working on building stronger reading stamina and independence, these healthy boosts are helping students stay motivated and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students. Often, teachers have to come out of pocket to buy books because many that we have are either in poor condition or we don't have several of the same copy to use.\r\n\r\nThis particular group of students love reading Wonder.
