Its impact on my students has been remarkable.\r\n\r\nWe have successfully incorporated the sensory corner into our EFL curriculum as part of the independent/leisure station rotation. Students begin at Station 1 to complete their academic tasks and then earn time in the sensory corner as their Station 2 choice. This structure has helped students stay motivated by giving them a meaningful break to work toward, while also providing a calming transition between work sessions.\r\n\r\nStudents are very excited to use the sensory corner—so much so that some even need reminders that they must complete some work first before enjoying their sensory time. This enthusiasm shows just how appealing and valued the space is to them.\r\n\r\nIn addition, when students enter the classroom feeling upset, overwhelmed, or near crisis, they are first given the opportunity to use the sensory corner. This proactive approach has helped them regulate before joining their assigned work stations. Since implementing the sensory corner, we have not had a single student enter into crisis in the classroom, and overall student engagement has significantly improved. More students are now able to successfully complete their assigned tasks, demonstrating increased emotional regulation, focus, and independence.\r\n\r\nThis project has truly transformed our learning environment. Thank you, DonorsChoose and your incredible partners, for giving my students the tools they need to thrive. Your generosity has directly contributed to my students' success this school year, and we are sincerely grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758831701368,"projectUrl":"project/sensory-corner-for-students-with-autism/9660556/","projectTitle":"Sensory Corner for Students with Autism to Thrive and Learn","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Natalie","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10229759"},{"teacherId":594462,"projectId":6672317,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for helping us to achieve this funding goal! Many of them come from homes where access to personal technology is limited, so having these tools available in school created a whole new world of opportunities. From the very first day, I could see the spark of curiosity light up in their eyes as they began to explore and learn in ways that were previously out of reach.\r\n\r\nThe impact has been both practical and deeply personal. On a practical level, students are now able to use digital resources to complete assignments, conduct research, and build projects that connect directly to the skills they will need in the 21st-century workplace. They are learning how to navigate digital platforms, troubleshoot problems, and collaborate on shared documents and presentations. These tools are no longer a luxury—they are essential for preparing students to thrive in a world that depends on technology for communication, problem-solving, and creativity.\r\n\r\nEqually important has been the personal growth I have witnessed in my students. For some, technology has become the bridge to participation in class discussions. Students who were once shy and hesitant to share their ideas now feel confident creating digital presentations, coding projects, or designing visual displays that allow their voices to be heard. The pride they feel in producing high-quality work has boosted their confidence, and it shows in every aspect of their academic performance.\r\n\r\nThis project has also encouraged peer-to-peer collaboration. I have seen students helping one another navigate new programs, exchange creative ideas, and problem-solve when challenges arise. The sense of teamwork that has grown in our classroom has made it not just a place of learning, but a community where everyone's contributions matter.\r\n\r\nAnother significant impact has been the way these tools open doors for different learning styles. Some students excel with hands-on projects, others shine with visual or written work, and some are auditory learners who benefit from digital lessons and tutorials. Having access to this technology means that all students can engage in a way that works best for them. It has leveled the playing field and ensured that every child has the opportunity to succeed.\r\n\r\nThe long-term effect of this project cannot be overstated. By equipping students with digital literacy skills now, you are ensuring that they will be prepared not only for the next grade level but also for high school, college, and careers. You have given them more than tools—you have given them confidence, independence, and hope.\r\n\r\nOn behalf of my students and myself, I want to extend my deepest gratitude. Your generosity has transformed our classroom into a space of possibility and innovation. Every day, my students are reminded that there are people beyond our walls who believe in their potential and want to see them succeed. That belief is powerful, and it continues to inspire them to aim higher and dream bigger. Thank you for making a lasting difference in their lives.","fullyFundedDate":1757855613959,"projectUrl":"project/digital-tools-for-bright-futures/9703989/","projectTitle":"“Digital Tools for Bright Futures”","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Corniel","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9017786"},{"teacherId":4856525,"projectId":9526458,"letterContent":"I am grateful for your involvement and support in fostering my students' growth.
