The technology is used as a learning tool to support reading, writing, math, and problem solving skills. Students are able to practice skills through interactive activities that provide immediate feedback, helping them better understand concepts and stay engaged in their learning.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is how interactive the technology is and how it allows them to take ownership of their learning. They enjoy being able to explore lessons, complete challenges, and see their progress in real time. The technology makes learning feel exciting and encourages students to stay focused, motivated, and eager to participate.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially connected with this new technology. Students who benefit from visual learning are showing stronger understanding of concepts, while others who may need extra support are gaining confidence through repeated practice. Some students who were previously hesitant to participate are now more willing to take academic risks and share their thinking.\r\n\r\nWe are truly grateful for your support. This project has enhanced instruction, increased student engagement, and helped create a classroom environment where all students feel supported and excited to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1746786373037,"projectUrl":"project/be-the-spark-empower-our-future-leader/9051174/","projectTitle":"\"Be the Spark: Empower Our Future Leaders Today!\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Duran","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-10_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9892719"},{"teacherId":6804630,"projectId":9554312,"letterContent":"Thank you for your generous contributions to our classroom. Your support has truly transformed our learning environment. I'm excited to share how we've been using the new resources.\r\n\r\nMy students and I have already put the supplies to great use. The pencils and colored pencils have become essential tools during our daily lessons, especially for writing, annotating, and creating visuals to deepen understanding. The plastic storage bins have helped us organize our math games, making it easier for students to access materials independently and work collaboratively. One of our favorite additions has been the 15-drawer rolling storage cart, which now houses many of our reading books. Students love being able to browse the drawers and choose texts that interest them.\r\n\r\nThe wood grain mats have made our meeting area feel warm, inviting, and comfortable. This space is the heart of our classroom—where students gather for story time, participate in mini-lessons in math, reading, and writing, and enjoy quiet moments for independent reading. One special moment that stands out was during our first story time on the new mats; the students settled in so calmly and attentively that the atmosphere felt almost magical.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw all the new materials, their excitement was immediate and contagious. They were eager to explore the drawers, test out the math games, choose new books, and sit together on the mats. \r\n\r\nMy students are continuing to build their skills through hands-on math practice with the organized games, deeper reading opportunities with our newly arranged books, and more focused mini lessons in our cozy meeting area. These resources are helping them grow as learners every single day.\r\n\r\nThank you again for your generosity and belief in our students. Your kindness has made a meaningful and lasting impact on our classroom, and we are truly grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1758899283293,"projectUrl":"project/creating-a-comfortable-and-organized-lea/9554312/","projectTitle":"Creating a Comfortable and Organized Learning Environment","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Linares","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6804630"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_1151","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":277,"numTeachers":44,"percentFrplEligible":95,"percentAsian":0,"percentBlack":12,"percentWhite":4,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":79,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"K - 5","studentTeacherRatio":"6.3:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":57.7,"schoolId":1151,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about PS 20 Port Richmond on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"PS 20 Port Richmond","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/ps-20-port-richmond/1151"}
