They immediately transformed our learning environment by giving students hands-on, engaging tools that support both academic and social development. Students are now excited to work together, and the games have become an important part of our classroom routine.\r\n\r\nThe biggest change I've seen is in collaboration and social skills. Students who were once hesitant to work with peers now feel more confident communicating, taking turns, and cooperating during game play. The games provide a structured and fun way for students to practice problem-solving, negotiate rules, and support one another.\r\n\r\nThe project has also improved our classroom culture. Students look forward to game time, whether during centers, indoor recess, or small-group rotations. Behavior has improved because the games offer a positive, motivating outlet that reduces frustration and encourages teamwork. Many students have commented that they now feel more connected to their classmates.\r\n\r\nOverall, the board games funded through this project have made learning more joyful, interactive, and inclusive. They have created opportunities for engagement that I could not have provided on my own, and they continue to enrich our classroom every single day. My students and I are deeply grateful for this support.","fullyFundedDate":1762267632295,"projectUrl":"project/game-on-building-social-skills-and-smil/9864991/","projectTitle":"Game On! We transformed our small space from a boring room with desk and chairs to a beautiful room with alternative seating. Alternative seating give young adults with special needs the feeling of calm in a more adult like setting. \r\n Our classroom consist of 12 young adults ages 18-22 who are learning transitional \r\nand life skills. Our class goes to worksite everyday to learn and implement skills in the areas of culinary, clerical, custodial and life skills needed for work. So when they come back to our main school after work our new room gives them the feeling of home.\r\nThey get to choose seating that helps them relax after work. Alternative seating in a special education classroom allows students to move around while learning either move closer the teacher aiding the lesson or even just to sit with a group of friends.\r\n Your donations made such an impact allowing the students to feel like grown ups.\r\nAnd one of the best parts is that they worked together to put the items together and were able to be involved in their new class room from start to finish.","fullyFundedDate":1761568330245,"projectUrl":"project/spreading-kindness-and-promoting-mental/9783684/","projectTitle":"Spreading Kindness and Promoting Mental Health","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Renee","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9054152_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1710290058609","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9054152"},{"teacherId":3251152,"projectId":9701253,"letterContent":"Your donation to our sensory garden had a direct and meaningful impact on students with moderate to severe disabilities. Students who struggle with sensory processing, attention, and behavior benefit from structured, therapeutic experiences like watering plants, feeling textures, listening to wind chimes, or caring for garden beds. These activities strengthen fine-motor skills, increase engagement, and provide natural opportunities for choice-making and language development.\r\nBecause many of our students rarely have access to nature in an urban environment, this garden becomes their place to feel grounded—a space where learning comes alive. Every tool, plant, and sensory element you help fund transforms the garden into an inclusive space that supports their social-emotional growth and helps them thrive.\r\nYour donation didn't just build a garden.
