The new materials have transformed not just our classroom environment, but the way our students connect with one another and with their school community.\r\n\r\nOur 3K students use the feelings-themed rug to host weekly Kindness Circles, inviting peers from other classrooms to join conversations about emotions, caring, and helping others. The social-emotional learning books and coloring materials have become favorites during peer to peer reading time, where our little leaders proudly \"teach\" older friends about identifying and expressing feelings. One of our most memorable moments happened when a student used a teddy bear to comfort a shy friend, sparking a thoughtful discussion about empathy and how we can take care of one another, such a powerful reflection of what your support has made possible.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, our students were thrilled and immediately understood that these tools would help them spread kindness beyond our own classroom. Their excitement has blossomed into real leadership as they prepare their next steps: creating short kindness lessons to share with PreK and Kindergarten classes, modeling calming strategies with the teddy bears, and working on a \"Kindness Book\" filled with drawings and messages about caring for others. So far, children have used the seashell letters in our sensory table, where they are able to engage their sense of touch while practicing letter recognition. It's been amazing to watch their curiosity grow as they find letters hidden among the sand.\r\n\r\nIn our library area, the new CD player has brought stories to life, allowing students to listen to audiobooks or to simply listen to calming music when they are feeling overwhelmed. This has helped many of our learners build listening skills and a love for stories in a more interactive way.\r\n\r\nThe magnetic letters have been a hit as well, giving students a hands-on way to build words and experiment with spelling during center time. These past three months have been filled with fun and our opportunity to provide meaningful sensory experiences have been endless. Incorporating the unit of study throughout the classroom has been made easier with our 4 bin sensory table. During our structure unit, children had the opportunity to build using sand, and mini bricks. Children were also able to explore different materials used for building like, dirt, mud, and oobleck (which resembled cement.) During our transportation unit, children had the opportunity to engage in a car wash! Using soapy water and foam vehicles we were able to make our learning hands-on. Now, during our recycling unit children are scooping through beans to find \"trash\" that they can recycle. \r\n\r\nThroughout all of these experiences (and more) children have been able to strengthen their fine-motor skills, as well as their cognitive skills. Children have been scooping, digging, pouring, and grasping items using different tools like; shovels, cups, tweezers, spoons, funnels, and molds.
