The Perplexity Maze Games have strengthened their problem-solving, prediction, and scientific reasoning, while also giving them opportunities to practice vocabulary, sequencing, and answering WH-questions. The Cause-and-Effect Maze encourages critical thinking and helps students understand how actions lead to outcomes, all while supporting expressive language as they explain their reasoning.\r\n\r\nStudents are especially excited by the interactive and hands-on nature of these activities. The textured balls and squeeze fidgets provide sensory input that keeps them focused and regulated, which is essential for learning. Some students who typically struggle to stay engaged have responded remarkably well, staying motivated and excited to participate in every session.\r\n\r\nWith these materials, I am able to create a multi-sensory learning environment that makes speech therapy fun, functional, and meaningful—helping students develop scientific thinking, language skills, and confidence all at the same time.","fullyFundedDate":1763568400740,"projectUrl":"project/science-and-speech-through-mazes/9906620/","projectTitle":"Science and Speech Through Mazes","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sassoon","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2148091_orig.png?crop=329,329,x26,y68&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1641433660510","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/2148091"},{"teacherId":2148091,"projectId":9862299,"letterContent":"Thanks to your support, my students are experiencing more engaging and meaningful learning than ever before. Many of these students thrive with tactile, visual, and themed materials, which help make abstract concepts concrete and easier to grasp.\r\n\r\nThe new resources from TpT are especially exciting because they combine learning with play. For example, animal-themed activities capture students' imaginations, while sensory and stimming tools help them stay calm, focused, and motivated throughout lessons. Students are not only learning essential skills, but also enjoying the process, which encourages them to participate more actively and practice new skills consistently.\r\n\r\nSome of my students who have historically struggled with attention or engagement have especially warmed to this technology. In our classroom our cozy corner serves multiple purposes; it is a place where the students gravitate to when they need some alone time; it is also a place where they can cuddle up with a good book to read by themselves or with a friend. it also is our calming corner where students go when they need time and space to calm their thoughts and feelings. Our cozy corner has also been used as a highlight and example in our building to encourage others to provide a similar space in their classrooms. Did I forget to mention that it is a HIT!\r\n The students enjoy listening to us read about our feelings with the book sets, \"A Little Spot of Feelings\" and describing how they feel using the puppets that came with the set. We are also learning about our history using \"The ABC of Black History\" and other similar books donated by you. Our school is such a diverse community that we relish reading about the experiences of others and seeing images of kids that they can relate to in such books as, Fry Bread: A Native American Family Story; Round Is a Tortilla: A Book of Shapes (paperback picture book) - A Latino Book of Concepts series; Jabari Jumps (paperback picture book); Malala: My Story of Standing Up for Girls' Rights (paperback chapter book); Pink Is for Boys (board book); Worldwide Buddies: China's Child (hardcover picture book); and The Kids' Book of Diversity: Empathy, Kindness and Respect for Differences (The Kids' Books of Social Emotional Learning) to name a few.\r\n Our Cozy Corner has become the cornerstone in the classroom; it's literally a grounding space for us to learn, coexist and bond as a community.
