This helps them develop their manual dexterity. They are also selecting pages that appeal to them. One student got so excited by the options that their eyes lit up and it was really nice to see. \r\nThe coloring books also help the kids practice staying in the lines which is something that they really struggle with at this age. The students have really enjoyed everything from the play dough and practicing letters to the simple paper to create printouts for the students to color and practice their writing. We did a lesson on identifying letters and we were able to use the magna-tiles to have students independently find the letters using their colored tile, identify them and their sound, then write it on a piece of paper. They really enjoyed the center and you could tell they were having fun using what they learned to play. Another group was able to use the magma-tiles to start creating CVC words and draw pictures to match. It was amazing to see the children really enjoyed these centers while still learning and practicing.
