This resource has truly transformed the way my students learn and engage in our classroom, especially within our student-run card shop.\r\n\r\nIn our class, we focus heavily on vocational and real-world skills to prepare students for life after high school. With the addition of this printer, students are now able to practice authentic office tasks such as printing documents, making copies, organizing materials, and even reloading paper and ink. These may seem like small tasks, but for my students (high schoolers with disabilities) these are meaningful, functional skills that build independence and confidence in workplace settings.\r\n\r\nWhat has been most exciting is seeing how invested the students have become in the process. Our card shop, where students design and create handmade greeting cards, has completely leveled up. Students are now printing their own designs, labels, and inserts independently. They take ownership over the entire process, from creating a design to producing a finished product, which has made the experience feel much more real and rewarding.\r\n\r\nSeveral students who are typically more hesitant to participate have really come alive with this technology. One student in particular, who usually needs a lot of prompting, has taken the lead in managing printing tasks. He now independently checks printer settings, reloads paper, and helps his peers troubleshoot when something doesn't print correctly. Another student, who thrives with hands-on learning, has become deeply engaged in the design-to-print process and takes great pride in seeing their ideas come to life.\r\n\r\nThis printer has not only supported academic learning, but it has also created opportunities for collaboration, problem-solving, and increased independence. Most importantly, it has helped my students feel capable and empowered in skills that directly translate to the real world.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in my students and believing in their potential. Your generosity is making a lasting impact every single day :)","fullyFundedDate":1767988264652,"projectUrl":"project/printing-pathways-to-job-skills/9984866/","projectTitle":"Printing Pathways to Job Skills!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jenna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10397362_orig.jpg?crop=1881,1881,x0,y456&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1777995644125","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/v03"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_99560","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":74,"percentAsian":14,"percentBlack":16,"percentWhite":12,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":34,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"MDR District Record","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":77.8,"schoolId":99560,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P233Q@CTEA on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P233Q@CTEA","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/p233q-ctea/99560"}
