The students in my school encounter a variety of challenges due to their different abilities. These challenges include, but are not limited to, speech and language deficits, behavioral challenges, sensory needs, and attention deficits. Because our student have cognitive delays and difficultly communicating, the utilization of visuals throughout the school day is crucial to their learning and to their school experience as a whole. The COVID-19 pandemic has completely changed what is it like to be a student, and the students in my school were just as prepared for this pandemic as we were - not at all. Now that some of our students are back in the school building, it is imperative that we provide them with not only curriculum-based materials, but all of the materials and supports they need to cope with the changes the COVID-19 pandemic has brought. A large laminator will allow all teachers in our school to create durable, visual schedules, calendars, behavior charts, token boards, progress monitoring charts and more! Items such as these will allow students to further their class participation, communication skills, social skills and self awareness skills. Please help us to continue to support our students in every way that we can!
