The students were happy to use them to go outside for lunch break and stay warm. The afterschool math club are a great group of kids who are eager to learn math and want to be challenged, however, given the length of the day and lack of food options available to them, these snacks really did come in handy. I have invited students to come in during lunch to play ELA games and it has been fun, especially on the brutally cold days when they were not allowed to go outside for recess. I have had a mix of students come, some who are language learners, some who are fluent in English, and it has been nice to see them playing around with words with no pressure or expectations, just to have fun. I plan to play some of the games during class, too. They will be good learning experiences for all the students.\r\n\r\nIt's also very helpful to have some more basic instructional materials and books to use with the students who are language learners, and the translation devices are helpful for day-to-day communication. Students can drag and drop with the touch of a finger and see the instant results.
