My students have experience with the Reading A to Z program. This website allows students to read leveled texts multiple times (computer read aloud option), record themselves reading out loud (to help improve reading fluency), and then take a comprehension quiz. Research says that reading books at a person's instructional level and rereading them can help promote vocabulary development, improve fluency (rate of reading), and help students understand what they read (comprehension). The use of iPads in the classroom will allow students to read high interest, leveled texts and improve their reading skills. iPads would give other reading/writing app options.
