The Gatorade water bottles have come in very handy, since there are water coolers around the school building. At the end of an extended day, our dancers were able to refill their bottles whenever necessary. \r\nWhen the students first saw the bottles, they couldn't believe their eyes and were very surprised that strangers would donate items to them without ever meeting them. They did not understand why anyone would do such a thing. It was explained to them that there are generous persons who care enough about them, who would donate towards their club in order to support their extracurricular activities. \r\nThe bottles have a long term impact since they are made of a very durable material and will serve the dancers for quite some time. The year ended off on quite a positive note. As soon as the donations arrived to the school, the good news were shared with the club. The students were confused as to why anyone would just donate these items having never met them. I explained to them that there are kind individuals out there. Confusion turned into gratitude and enthusiasm. For the remainder of the semester, the students arrived immediately after their last class, they bonded while snacking and then moved on to dancing. \r\nYour gifts helped club members to develop a routine which was expected upon arrival to the classroom . Fifteen minutes of \"feasting\", then they were off to choreograph new routines or practice old ones. As a result of what can be regarded as kindness to strangers, the students plan on further developing a partnership with another club at the school. Each week they visit a senior center to uplift the spirits of the residents. The Dance Club performed for them on a previous occasion. The residents truly appreciated the entertainment, and the club members enjoyed the opportunity to bring joy to others just as your contributions did for them.
