While many people think of a computer as simply a device for typing or internet access, this MacBook has opened doors for students to explore music in ways that were previously unavailable. Students are now using music production software to create their own arrangements, record performances, and experiment with composition. These hands-on experiences help them better understand musical concepts while developing creativity, critical thinking, and technology skills that extend beyond the music classroom.\r\n\r\nWhat excites students most is the opportunity to create music themselves. They love hearing their ideas come to life through recording and production software. Students who may not always be eager to sing in front of their peers often become highly engaged when working on a digital music project. The MacBook has also become the control center for our concerts and performances, helping students see how technology supports live music production behind the scenes. This real-world connection makes classroom learning more meaningful and relevant.\r\n\r\nSeveral students have especially embraced this technology. Some who are naturally curious about computers and audio equipment have taken leadership roles in helping set up recordings and manage performance materials. Others have discovered a passion for composing and arranging music that they had never explored before. Thanks to your generosity, our students are developing both musical and technological skills while gaining confidence in their ability to create, collaborate, and share their work with others. Your generosity has made a meaningful difference for my amazing 8th grade students in our special education NEST program, which supports students with autism in an inclusive classroom setting.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, my students were incredibly curious to see the new tools we would be using in our classroom. As we unpacked everything together, many students immediately wanted to explore the fidgets and learn how the new classroom supports would help with our daily routines.\r\n\r\nWe are now using these resources every day to help create a calm, structured learning environment. Students use the fidgets during lessons when they need a quiet way to manage their energy and stay focused. Having access to these tools helps students regulate their sensory needs while still staying engaged in class activities.\r\n\r\nThe laminating sheets have allowed us to create reusable visual schedules and checklists that help students clearly see the steps for classroom routines and assignments. These visuals make transitions smoother and help students stay organized and independent throughout the day. The labeling materials have also been incredibly helpful. By labeling classroom supplies and storage areas, students are able to locate materials more easily and return them independently. This organization helps reduce stress and anxiety because students know exactly where to go when they need something.\r\n\r\nThe rolling whiteboards have also been a valuable addition to our classroom. They allow us to clearly display visual directions, step-by-step instructions, and reminders during lessons. Because the boards can be moved around the room, students are able to see directions from wherever they are working. This helps students follow multi-step tasks, stay organized during activities, and refer back to instructions without feeling overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nLooking ahead, we will continue using these tools as part of our daily routines and classroom projects. As students become more comfortable using these supports, they are building stronger self-regulation skills and learning strategies they can carry with them beyond our classroom. Our goal is to help every student feel confident, supported, and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nThank you again for believing in my students and helping us create a classroom that feels calm, structured, and supportive. These contactless infrared thermometers were needed for a state lab about thermoregulation. I am one of a few teachers who currently teaches high school level biology to one 8th grade class. Part of preparing for our Regents exam in June is completing required state labs that are part of their laboratory hours. One of the labs is one about regulating body temperature. The students carry out an investigation in which they test how their core temperature and extremity (hand) temperature are affect by cold water and very warm water. They take data for multiple trials and compare average temperatures to their normal average body temperature for their core and hand. They analyze their data and apply their new knowledge about feedback mechanisms to other scenarios. \r\n\r\nMy students were very excited over the prospect of carrying out this investigation and using thermometers. A majority of the students stated that they had fun completing the lab and learned a lot from this hands on investigation.
