One of my favorite moments happened during our first algebra review activity using the new dry-erase boards and algebra tiles. Students who normally hesitate to participate were suddenly leaning forward, sketching out equations, checking each other's work, and proudly holding up their boards for feedback. The classroom felt alive—full of movement, collaboration, and those little sparks of confidence that make such a huge difference for high school learners.\r\n\r\nSince the materials arrived, we've transformed the way we work together. The storage bins, caddies, and drawer organizers now give us a calm, structured environment where everything has a place. Students can easily grab what they need for group projects, exit-ticket practice, or skill stations. The educational games and hands-on tools have become a daily highlight; during a recent financial literacy mini-unit, students used the play money set to model real-world budgeting, turning what is usually a tough topic into an engaging, laughter-filled challenge. These resources have made our classroom both more efficient and more joyful.\r\n\r\nAs we move forward, my students are beginning a multi-step math project where they'll rotate through problem-solving stations using the whiteboards, dry-erase sleeves, and math manipulatives you helped provide. Their next goal is to apply these tools to build stronger foundational skills and tackle more advanced concepts with confidence. None of this would have been possible without your generosity. Thank you for believing in my students and giving them the organized, engaging, and empowering learning environment they deserve.","fullyFundedDate":1758899041177,"projectUrl":"project/from-chaos-to-clarity-tools-for-focuse/9452931/","projectTitle":"\"From Chaos to Clarity: Tools for Focused Learning\"","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wu","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-4_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9933327"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_96268","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":167,"numTeachers":13,"percentFrplEligible":90,"percentAsian":2,"percentBlack":66,"percentWhite":2,"percentIndigenous":1,"percentLatinx":27,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"the National Center for Education Statistics","percentHawaiianImputed":0,"percentMultiracialImputed":0,"gradesServed":"9 - 12","studentTeacherRatio":"12.8:1","demographicsDataSource":"MDR School","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":true,"metroType":"URBAN","ncesMetroType":"CITY_LARGE"},"inStateSupporters":40.0,"schoolId":96268,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about Brooklyn Democracy Academy on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"Brooklyn Democracy Academy","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/new-york-city-dept-of-ed/brooklyn-democracy-academy/96268"}
