The students were ecstatic upon seeing the new materials, especially the chess sets and timers, which quickly led to the creation of a dedicated Chess Club. In addition to in-house tournaments, our greatest achievement was when two students participated in a city-wide chess tournament (Chess in the Schools), both placing and one taking first place in his division! We are now focused on expanding the Chess Club this year, implementing mentorships, and branching into other strategic games.
