We were able to obtain a classroom trampoline, wonderful sensory tent, weighted blankets, sensory tools and noise canceling headphones to create a space that students can use to calm down, take a break and work on self-regulation skills. \r\n\r\nThe students have thoroughly enjoyed having a calm down space. We have had it up and running from the very first day of school this year and the students have been using it daily. It is really helpful to have this space. We were also able to bring some of the tools to an assembly to help students who have a tough time with a lot of noise. This was a big help!\r\n\r\nThe best part about having these tools in our own classroom is that students are able to take a break right in the classroom instead of having to leave to go to a different room to take a break.
