Your generous support has transformed our learning space in ways that continue to exceed my expectations every single day.\r\n\r\nWhen the boxes first arrived, our students' faces lit up with genuine excitement as they helped unpack each item. We now have four Hugimals providing comfort, comfortable seat cushions for students to choose from, and seven beautiful faux plants bringing life to our room. The floor lamp helps cast a soft, inviting glow in the room, while the fluorescent light covers soften the overhead lighting in ways students immediately appreciate. The hexagon lights add a bit of color along with the LED light strip already in place. The stress cubes, chair fidget bands, and tabletop water fountain give our learners healthy outlets for movement and sensory needs. The mindfulness Breathing Puppy has become a beloved tool during transitions and moments of stress, the coloring book offers creative breaks, and the hacking engagement book has provided some practical strategies.\r\n\r\nWhat touches my heart most is how our students have embraced ownership of our space. Every morning, our first-period students eagerly volunteer to turn on the lights and fill the water fountain—small acts that give them a sense of pride and responsibility. Even staff members passing by have stopped in to comment on how much they love the \"feel\" of the room. The environment continues to promote calm, comfort, and a welcome feeling.\r\n\r\nWhile we've encountered a minor adhesion challenge with the foam sound tiles, everything else is working beautifully to create the inclusive, comfortable learning environment we envisioned.\r\n\r\nThank you for believing in the power of a warm and welcoming classroom on learning and mental health and wellness, and for investing in our students' sense of belonging and well-being. Your gift has made a meaningful difference in their daily experience of school.","fullyFundedDate":1769006781994,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-environment-anyone-would-love/10032924/","projectTitle":"Classroom Environment Anyone Would Love","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Westerling","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp4328219_orig.jpg?crop=800,800,x0,y312&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1728478298774","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4328219"},{"teacherId":4276936,"projectId":9672048,"letterContent":"Thank so much for your instrumental support of our classroom. I received 2 CPR Manikins and an AED trainer at the start of the school year. Our First Aid Unit is later in the year so students have not used them in class yet. I did, however, have them displayed at our Open House and they were a hit! My students brought their families over to the Health class table and immediately wanted to try chest compressions and ask what the AED was and how it worked. The families thought it was awesome that their son or daughter were going to learn how to save a life in Health class. Having these items did exactly what I wanted; that is, they stimulated engagement and wonderment. Additionally, students, whom always pop in my classroom to see me during my planning period, observed me putting it all together and installing the batteries. The same thing happened. They asked lots of questions and asked if they could try compressions.\r\n\r\nThe best part of the manikins is that they light up. When someone was not pushing fast enough, deep enough, or were going too fast, the lights on the manikin will indicate that. This feedback was very helpful. All I had to say is \"speed up\" or \"push deeper\". When they made those adjustments, the manikin indicated that they were at the proper speed and depth.\r\n\r\nLater in the year, I foresee lots of meaningful student engagement during out First Aid Unit because of our new manikins and practice AED. I thank you for that!","fullyFundedDate":1750294663587,"projectUrl":"project/you-can-save-a-life/9416869/","projectTitle":"You Can Save a Life!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Boland","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9819362"},{"teacherId":4328219,"projectId":9382644,"letterContent":"Students have already expressed their interest in the books. We had a volunteer photographer at the open house who took the photos and also really liked the kit.\r\n\r\nStudents have already begun to think of ways to use this in the classroom. One student had the idea of using a green screen and Egypt as a background to create a report in their History class.\r\n\r\nThe PTA has already asked about using it during the teen scene dance event in October.
