My students use them every day during math, reading, and other activities when they need to practice a skill, show their thinking, or quickly make changes to their work. Having these materials allows students to practice without worrying about wasting paper and makes learning more interactive and engaging.\r\nWhen my students first saw the new markers and erasers, they were so excited! They couldn't wait to use the new supplies and were especially excited to have their own erasers to keep their work neat. It was exciting to see how something as simple as new classroom materials could bring so much enthusiasm to learning. My 3rd graders were incredibly excited when they first saw the LEGO sets and snacks arrive. The students immediately noticed all of the different themed sets, especially the flower set and the Spider-Man scene, and could not wait to begin building together. The snacks have also been extremely helpful in ensuring students have access to something during the school day when needed so they can stay focused and ready to learn.\r\n\r\nWe have been using the LEGO sets during teamwork and STEM-based activities focused on collaboration, communication, and problem solving. Students worked together to assign roles, follow detailed directions, organize materials, and support one another throughout the building process. One of my favorite moments was watching groups carefully work through challenges together while encouraging each other and celebrating when they completed their builds. These activities have helped my students strengthen important skills such as patience, cooperation, leadership, and perseverance in a fun and engaging way.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, students will keep using these materials during collaborative STEM challenges and classroom community-building activities. We are continuing to focus on teamwork, critical thinking, and following multi-step directions while giving students opportunities to learn through hands-on experiences. They make sure that they have their snack every day, and it has truly become an important part of our routine. As we are preparing for state testing, students are working diligently to be successful. The smiles on their faces say it all they are incredibly appreciative of your donations, and it shows in their positive attitudes and increased focus.\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate and heartfelt.There was genuine joy, some students were even moved to happy tears, along with a deep sense of comfort and relief. Some students quietly expressed gratitude, while others just gave me hugs and couldn't believe a stranger would donate to our classes. It created a warm and supportive classroom environment where students feel cared for and ready to learn. During a recent lesson on fractions, I watched students who usually stay quiet jump right in raising their hands to naming the equal parts, sharing ideas about how to share the graham crackers equally , and collaborating to solve problems.
