The impact you have had on the social and emotional learning and well being of my students is immeasurable. \r\n\r\nLearning looks very different in a special needs classroom than a typical one. I have several \"mobile learners\" who ambulate throughout the classroom to meet their sensory needs during lessons. Our new bean bag chair has given them a comfortable place to sit and an improved focus during lessons. Several students choose to sit in the bean bag chair instead of walking around, which allows more of their attention to be placed on academics than on seeking sensory input.\r\n\r\nThe galaxy slime, squishies, and dough balls help students to meet sensory and fidget needs, improving focus and attention, and the little spot of emotion books have helped my students explore and learn to express how they're feeling at any point throughout the day. And I am super grateful for the bookshelf, which helps to keep our sensory spot organized and tidy. \r\n\r\nMost students in this class are nonverbal, and the tools you have provided have allowed them an opportunity for self expression and increased independence to meet their needs, and for that, my class as a whole is extremely grateful.","fullyFundedDate":1728440888656,"projectUrl":"project/sensational-sensory-space/8866242/","projectTitle":"Sensational Sensory Space","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Donna","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9797944"}],"pageName":"schoolpage_104000","usesDonorsChoose":true,"infoPageType":"school","demographicsInfo":{"numStudents":null,"numTeachers":null,"percentFrplEligible":89,"percentAsian":18,"percentBlack":3,"percentWhite":61,"percentIndigenous":0,"percentLatinx":15,"showFreeAndReducedPriceLunchInfo":true,"showDemographicsInfo":true,"sourceTooltipString":"US Census Data for the surrounding geographic area","gradesServed":"Not specified","studentTeacherRatio":null,"demographicsDataSource":"Census ZCTA","equityFocus":true,"titleOne":false,"metroType":"UNCLASSIFIED","ncesMetroType":null},"inStateSupporters":80.0,"schoolId":104000,"financialInfo":null,"twitterShareText":"Learn more about P721R @ Jerome Parker Campus School on @DonorsChoose:","schoolName":"P721R @ Jerome Parker Campus School","canonicalPageUrl":"schools/new-york/district-75-city-wide-programs/p721r-jerome-parker-campus-school/104000"}
