The beautiful new rug has made an incredible difference for my sensory-seeking third graders with autism. The moment it arrived, the excitement in the room was contagious — my students were eager to help unroll it, touch the soft texture, and claim their favorite spot. For many of my students, comfort and routine are key to feeling safe and ready to learn, and this rug instantly became that special place for them.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nEach morning, we begin our day gathered together on the rug for our morning meeting. It's where we greet one another, share feelings, and set the tone for the day. Having a soft, defined space helps my students know where to sit and gives them the sensory comfort they crave. They are more engaged, calmer, and able to focus during our circle time.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nBeyond morning meetings, the rug is now our go-to area for group lessons, story time, and sensory breaks. It provides a structured yet soothing space that supports both learning and emotional regulation.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThank you for giving my students a classroom environment that feels warm, safe, and inviting.
