My vision for inclusion was brought to life with the help of your contributions and I could not be more grateful. Unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances and budget cuts within the district, I am no longer employed by my school or teaching in an elementary classroom. With that being said, I can not fully approach this goal with the same intent as when I first had started this project.\r\nDespite the unfortunate circumstances leading up to this impact letter, I was still able to use my ideas, and the materials you helped me to acquire, to make a difference in the lives of children. As I cleaned out my classroom and loaded up all of my hopes and dreams of making a change into my SUV, I was able to take some of the items and pass them along to the other teachers from my 3rd grade team. They took the materials and vowed to use the intentions I had for them to inspire an inclusive movement within their own classrooms. Specifically, I gave the wobble seat and computer chair to one teacher, which ultimately allowed her to have more flexible seating for her students and mobility for herself to move between groups during learning centers. Even though they are not being used specifically how I had envisioned, my heart is happy knowing that I was able to make my own \"donation\" to someone else's new project.\r\nAdditionally, my change in employment led me to a local daycare center; I am proud to say that my new position includes training new staff as well as going into classrooms and guiding current teachers towards a more inclusive and engaging classroom. My current placement is in a classroom designed for toddlers (2-2.5 years old) to help the current teacher work to improve the learning environment for the kiddos and implement some more developmentally appropriate activities. Due to the dynamic of the classroom and the abilities of the students, I was able to use some of the materials to develop a more supportive environment for students with differing needs. The caddy's and 3 drawer organizers have been used to ensure more appropriate access to art supplies; while the caddy's hold the materials the students will need for whatever project or activity they will be working on, the drawers will hold the other materials that are not needed. This also means that the kiddos can now safely carry their supplies to the tables with little help from their teachers, this simple change enhances the development of independence and allows them to practice following directions (i.e. okay, \"Johnny,\" let's get the blue art box and bring it to the table). While these materials are not being used in my own classroom, the goal was to provide students with access to their materials in a productive way, which I do believe has still been accomplished. \r\nBeing able to successfully provide and implement materials that help to improve learning for students of different ages, skills, and abilities, even though the Universe had a different plan, means the world to me. My passion remains the same and I will always strive to make a difference in the lives of children regardless of the circumstances of my career; I have not given up on my dreams of promoting inclusion and will continue my journey of advocacy and acceptance.","fullyFundedDate":1740948890036,"projectUrl":"project/transformation-station-project-inclusio/8965848/","projectTitle":"Transformation Station: Project Inclusion- Supporting All Abilities","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wright","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-6_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9847311"},{"teacherId":9907978,"projectId":9369825,"letterContent":"Your kind donations to this project have made 18 kids smile ear to ear! It felt like Christmas when the items were delivered to my classroom. The students were so surprised to be getting the STEM kits, 3D shapes, and large magnetic coins. We quickly opened up the packages and checked everything out!\r\nMy students were broken up into groups of 3 and took turns rotating through the STEM stations. They loved everything and learned a lot by using their five senses. The STEM bins encourage cooperation and helps them follow steps to complete a job . They did great!\r\nDuring math we explored the 3D shapes and magnetic coins. We named all of the items and sorted them together. The tactile shapes makes learning a lot easier for these first graders. \r\nThank you again for supporting my classroom in upstate New York where funds aren't available for the items this projects funded.
