We are just over halfway through the semester, and the supplies that you sponsored have been put to good use so far! \r\n\r\nWe have been creating nature journals, which document our observations of the natural world including the microscopic world, the macroscopic world, the changes in seasons, soil samples, biodiversity of species, and more. The journals and journaling materials came from your sponsorship, and we wouldn't be doing this project without your help. The students have really enjoyed getting outside of the classroom with these supplies! \r\n\r\nThe students also have been tracking weather conditions with our new weather station. First, they had to do some research to determine where the best site on campus was to install the station. Then, the students worked with our maintenance staff to install the weather station. We include weather information in our nature journals, as well as observing changes in dew point and barometric pressure as the seasons change. Again, this project would not have happened without your support of our classroom. \r\n\r\nFinally, the students are able to keep their journaling supplies and classwork organized with supplies that were purchased with the funds from this campaign. While organization may seem like a small thing, this is a soft skill that students can use to build healthy academic habits. They can take this skill with them as they move on to college, and later to the professional world. Soft skills are an important aspect of life that often gets overlooked in high school, but it is so important to give our students real-world connections and skills. \r\n\r\nThank you for your support and sponsorship of this campaign.
