They couldn't wait to sit together in our new cozy space. The rug has transformed our classroom into a welcoming and comfortable environment where students love to gather for group discussions, reading time, and morning meetings. The pillows have quickly become a favorite for independent reading and partner work — it's amazing how something so simple can make such a big difference in how engaged and relaxed they feel while learning.\r\n\r\nOne of my favorite moments was during our reading rotations. Students eagerly grabbed their books and pillows, spread out on the rug, and completely immersed themselves in their stories. It was such a joy to see them focused, comfortable, and genuinely excited to read.\r\n\r\nRight now, my students are working on improving their reading fluency and comprehension, and our new learning space helps set the perfect tone for these lessons. Having a soft, inviting area encourages collaboration, creativity, and focus — all of which help my students grow as learners. Because of your generosity, my students were able to assemble compassion bags filled with essentials like hygiene products, snacks, and encouraging notes—items meant to bring comfort to students in need right here on our own campus.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials arrived, my students were so excited to unpack everything. Their faces lit up as they realized they were about to make a difference in someone else's life. As they filled the bags, they took great care in choosing items and writing heartfelt notes to include. One student said, \"I hope this helps someone feel seen.\" That moment alone made the project incredibly meaningful.\r\n\r\nWe gave the completed bags to our school counselor, who will distribute them discreetly to students in need throughout the year. Knowing that their efforts are directly supporting their peers created a deep sense of pride and empathy in my students. It turned into more than just a service project—it became a lesson in compassion, dignity, and kindness. Thank you for making this possible.
