Your gift has made a profound impact on the students I support even though they may not see it themselves. The students in this classroom struggle with big emotions that can become overwhelming very quickly. The new calm-down corner provides them with a safe space to discharge and recharge as needed, while the variety of sensory items presents them with choice making opportunities which support self-advocacy and self-regulation skills. \r\n\r\nBecause of your gift, the students I support now have a special space in their classroom to wind down through exploration of different sensory items. The classroom had been recently renovated with fresh paint and new carpeting when the packages arrived and the new sensory corner has made the classroom even more special. The children are most excited to have the fluffy pillows. They love to crash land and lounge on them everyday. The various textured fidgets are also a big hit, especially the squishy ones. Although the students may not understand the full impact these resources provide them, I can see the difference they have made on the children's overall ability to rebound when days are rough.","fullyFundedDate":1764606294026,"projectUrl":"project/classroom-calm-down-corner/9766300/","projectTitle":"Classroom Calm Down Corner","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Dana","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10289830_orig.jpg?crop=1386,1386,x0,y50&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1759087286896","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10289830"},{"teacherId":7769936,"projectId":9754896,"letterContent":"We have enjoyed stepping outside, having fun, and discovering nature. We have been focused on making our Peace Garden beautiful, spreading cheer and learning new things-all while fostering teamwork, kindness and a sense of community!\r\nWe celebrated World Peace Day with the creation of our Peace Garden. It gives my students a meaningful, hands-on way to understand peace, cooperation and responsibility.\r\nStudents have taken an active role in improving our outdoor learning space this year. They planted spring flowers in the large planters, started an herb/flower garden, and worked together to clean, rake, and reorganize the Peace Garden area outside our classroom. These activities not only celebrate Earth Day, but empower students to be environmental stewards in their daily lives\r\nThis experience supports social studies and civics standards by helping second and third graders understand how individuals contribute to their community and how cooperation leads to positive change. It also connects to science standards as students learn about plant life cycles, caring for living things, and the environment.\r\nMost importantly, the Peace Garden encourages students to see themselves as environmental stewards. By caring for their garden, they learn that small, consistent actions—like watering plants, keeping spaces clean, and working together—can make a big difference.","fullyFundedDate":1764362562161,"projectUrl":"project/seeds-of-peace-plant-today-grow-peac/9754896/","projectTitle":"Seeds of Peace – “Plant today, Grow Peace Tomorrow.”","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Sandoval Chavez","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-9_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/7769936"},{"teacherId":3826924,"projectId":9605191,"letterContent":"Thank you for supporting our youngest students!
