I wish you could have seen my students when the new rug arrived! They immediately helped me unwrap it and rolled it out. They were thrilled! This rug is the central part of our classroom community. We have morning meetings, learn about phonics, read books, and discover strategies for subtraction on that rug. We learn about animal needs, we build with STEM tools, and we share and listen about each other's lives. Whenever students from other classes come to visit our classroom, the first thing they say is, \"I like your rug!\" I'm so grateful that this group of students, and students ya for years to come, will get to build community here in this way.","fullyFundedDate":1757647983487,"projectUrl":"project/new-classroom-new-beginnings/9675999/","projectTitle":"New classroom, new beginnings","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Wakefield","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp6073931_orig.jpg?crop=750,750,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1606233698214","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6073931"},{"teacherId":10318502,"projectId":9842615,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations! Words cannot express how thankful I am. I was so excited when the package was delivered! The kids were also very excited and couldn't wait to see what it was. \r\n\r\nFor those that aren't aware, teachers purchase many items for their classroom with their own money. I had a district provided cart, that had been well used, that another teacher no longer needed. I knew I was fortunate to get this cart because the school budget doesn't allow many carts to be purchased so many teachers had to purchase their own cart (or other things to charge their devices). I was very sad when the cart began having issues and wasn't charging all the iPads. I submitted a ticket for the technology department to come to my classroom to see if there was anything they could do to solve the problem. They tried to help but they said the cart probably wouldn't last much longer. I was told there was not any money in the district or school budget to purchase a new cart for my class. I knew I was going to have to figure out a way to get a new cart for my class. I was encouraged to do a DonorsChoose and am so thankful I did!\r\n\r\nI'm so thankful for the parent volunteers that assembled the cart.
