We use it to transport emergency medications and other essential medical supplies so we can keep our students safe and prepared wherever we need to go. Having a reliable wagon will help us move these important supplies quickly and efficiently during an emergency.\r\n\r\nThe self-service cart will also make a big difference for our students. We are creating a station where students can access snacks, hygiene products, and self-care items for everyday needs, such as chapped lips, dry skin, or a small paper cut. Sometimes, something as simple as a snack, a bandage, or a hygiene product can help a student feel more comfortable and ready to return to class. We want students to feel comfortable asking for help and to know that their needs matter.\r\n\r\nOur goal is to continue building a health office where students feel safe, cared for, and supported. Each student was given a strict budget of $4 to \"purchase\" their design supplies and had to track their spending carefully on their spending sheet. It was amazing to watch them make thoughtful trade-offs, calculating whether spending extra money on sturdy tape or lightweight foam would give their sailboat the winning edge. The next week, for 2nd- 5th was building after design. Meanwhile, our Kindergarten and 1st-grade sailors dove straight into designing their \"velero,\" then into construction.\r\n\r\nOne unforgettable moment happened during trials. A 3rd grader realized her paper sail was too tall, and it got knocked over. Instead of giving up, she cut off a piece of her straw and her sail and successfully raced her boat down the raceway to cheers from her classmates.
