As families visited for our annual Open House event, they were able to see the new rug, too! We have several students who are more comfortable sitting across two squares and having this larger rug allows them to have that space to do so. We also have enough room for students to switch spaces when needed, as not every space is occupied. This also allows for us to use adaptive seating like scoop seats, wiggle cushions, etc., without encroaching on the space of another student. \r\n\r\nWe've compared and contrasted different versions of \"The Gingerbread Man,\" learned about character and voice using class-made puppets and enjoyed projects from home during our daily show and tell time. With the fall season approaching, we will learn the steps in the life-cycle of an apple, and a pumpkin, while viewing time-lapse videos of these cycles on the Promethean Board. We will also study our skeleton in science and learn about the celebration of Día de los Muertos during social studies. \r\n\r\nOur classroom rug will be utilized and appreciated for years to come.
