The rest mats in my classroom currently have served over 10 years of Kindergarten students (approximately 200 students) and have the wear and tear to prove it. Many are unusable, this year, because of the poor condition they are in. The funding of this project will provide all of my students with a safe, comfortable rest space to be used daily and as needed. Oftentimes, for various reasons, my students will come to school tired and will request some time on a mat before starting the day. These mats provide comfort and relaxation to some who struggle to find that outside of school.
