Before having these resources, many students struggled to regulate their energy, emotions, and focus throughout the day. Now, with access to tools like fidgets, flexible seating, and calming supports, students are better able to stay engaged and participate in lessons without becoming overwhelmed.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, the excitement was immediate. Students were eager to explore each item, but what stood out most was how quickly they understood their purpose. With guidance, they began to see these tools not as toys, but as supports to help their bodies and brains stay ready to learn. There was a noticeable sense of relief among some students—especially those who often have difficulty sitting still or managing sensory input.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, we are continuing to teach students how to use these tools responsibly and independently as part of their daily routines. As we begin new units and collaborative projects, students are practicing selecting the tools that best support their needs so they can fully participate in group work, discussions, and sustained tasks. These resources are not only helping students regulate in the moment, but also building lifelong skills in self-awareness and self-management.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, our classroom has become a more inclusive, supportive space where every student has access to what they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1764715087193,"projectUrl":"project/finding-our-harmony-sensory-supports-fo/9912826/","projectTitle":"Finding Our Harmony: Sensory Supports for a Calmer Classroom","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8947864"},{"teacherId":8947864,"projectId":10027270,"letterContent":"The donation of snacks has made an immediate and meaningful impact on our school pantry and, most importantly, on our students. What was once a small, inconsistent supply has become a reliable resource we can turn to every day. Our pantry is now stocked with a variety of snacks and individual meals, allowing us to respond quickly and quietly when a student is hungry—without drawing attention or causing embarrassment.\r\nIn the classroom, these resources are used daily in simple but powerful ways. Students know they can access a snack if they need one, which has helped reduce distractions and increased focus during lessons. Meeting basic needs can unlock a student's ability to learn.\r\nThanks to our donors, our school is not only better equipped for learning, but also a more supportive and equitable environment where every student has what they need to succeed.","fullyFundedDate":1768677792721,"projectUrl":"project/full-bellies-ready-minds/10027270/","projectTitle":"Full Bellies, Ready Minds","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Maldonado","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-3_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8947864"},{"teacherId":6341276,"projectId":9951619,"letterContent":"Your generous donations have made such a meaningful impact in our classroom. The subscription to Generation Genius Math has brought a new level of excitement to our daily math lessons. Students are more engaged than ever, and that engagement is helping them better understand and retain what they are learning.\r\n\r\nGeneration Genius does an incredible job of showing students how math connects to the real world, making concepts more relevant and easier to grasp. These lessons are not only fun, but they also help build lasting understanding.\r\n\r\nWhile all students benefit from these engaging lessons, they have been especially impactful for those who struggle with attention and focus. The teacher resource gift card has allowed me to purchase updated instructional materials that directly support our current units, while the new ukulele book has already become a valuable guide as we build our classroom music-making skills. The stickers have also become a positive incentive system that motivates students and celebrates their successes in a fun, meaningful way.\r\n\r\nWhen the materials first arrived, students were buzzing with excitement. They love knowing that people outside our school care about their learning and want to support them. It made them feel seen and valued—and that alone was a special moment.\r\n\r\nThe new teaching resources will help me strengthen upcoming lessons in rhythm, notation, and ensemble playing, ensuring students have high-quality materials to support their musical growth. And, of course, the incentive stickers will continue to celebrate their hard work and personal progress along the way.\r\n\r\nThank you again for investing in our classroom.
