Their faces will lite up as they chose their pairs and feel how soft and cozy they were. For many of our students, having something new that was purchased especially for them is a meaningful experience. \r\n\r\nIn a school community where many families face financial challenges, providing a basic comfort item to every child helps ensure that no student feels left out or different because of what their family may or may not be able to provide.\r\n\r\nThe impact of this project will reach far beyond keeping little feet warm. They were so excited to open all the supplies and lay it out on the carpet. After we organized the material we talked about how we could use it for our culminating Science project.\r\n They used the clay and googly eyes to create the animal they researched as well as other animals in their habitats. Then they painted them. Later on they made a background for their habitats, using pipe cleaners, construction paper, cotton balls,pom poms., and a few other items.
