We are looking so forward to continuing this as we move into state wide testing soon and students need to work really hard. Breakfast is a really important part of the day and many students would rather wake up late then give themselves time at home to eat something. When they get to school, they don't like what is being offered to them or they are even late for that. By being able to make my students pancakes on our school machine which we got from donors choose last year, you allow us to have a nutritious breakfast that all the students enjoy to their liking. Having people that care about them and people that show that they care about them motivates them to keep learning and trying, even when they wanna give up. Today's kids have such a hard situation with all the technology around them and the distractions and it's hard to stay on task and motivated to want to learn. Having resources available to keep kids on track and focused really helps with their learning. When my students get distracted or they tune out because of their disabilities having snacks to reengage them is very helpful. Also, students who come in the morning hungry really need food as energy to get them to be able to learn through lunch. Firefighters and Police officers work so hard and they deserve recognition for everything that they do. They put their lives on the line everyday and my students need to realize this. Some police officers and firefighters work in better areas than others and even though where my school is it is a relatively safe area, becasue there are more disadvantaged areas than where my school is within the township, there are constant fires from people using plug in heaters and ovens to warm apartments. Over Thanksgiving there was a fire in our school community and a child lost three family members. Even though we are doing what we can to raise money for this child, the firefighters and police who answered the call don't get the attention that they deserve.\r\nFirefighters don't only put out fires, they have to have knowledge about the people in the fires as well. On a personal note, I have had the fire department out myself a few times over the years and each time they came with a smile on their face and helped as needed. When I burned my mothers kitchen down with an oil fire, by the time they got there the fire was out. None the less, they made sure everything was safe and secured the area. When they were done, they took care of my hand and arm that had a first and secone degree burn. For these reasons, I feel that my students should realize how hard they work. \r\nI know that many students in my school personally know these firefighters and police men because many live within the community. I hope that the students have gained from this project.","fullyFundedDate":1765558559486,"projectUrl":"project/kindness-starts-within-the-community-for/9862900/","projectTitle":"Kindness Starts Within the Community for People That Do Good!","teacherDisplayName":"Mrs. Muller","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-5_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/4207368"},{"teacherId":4207368,"projectId":9629458,"letterContent":"Thank you for the balloons you gave my students. The tissues and paper towels have been essential as cold season hits, keeping our room healthy and allowing students to stay engaged rather than distracted.
