My students come to me for advice thoughout the day for different things that are going on in their lives. Sometimes, it takes a lot of courage to come to an adult to feel comfortable enough to open up to them and tell the person what is bothering you. This coming school year, I will be moving into a larger room in my school building and I will have no furniture to meet with my students. I would love for my students to have a beautiful and inviting room to come to speak to me to make the process more soothing and productive. Sometimes when a student comes to me there is a problem going on in their classroom and we need to bring other students into the room to have a group session. I would like to have enough bean bags for all the students to sit around in a circle to talk about what is going on and help them through it and find a resolution. I also have lunch groups where students come to me to work on social skills. These bean bags would make the perfect seating arrangement for these groups. Bean Bags are a fun and inviting way for children to sit around and talk in a non threatening way. I want my students to feel safe and secure when they come to me and I think this will be the perfect solution. Kids love to sit around and "schmooze" and with bean bags, I will be able to address any problems my students are facing and work with them to resolve any conflicts that are going on. My old room was very small and I was unable to do this effectively. In my new room, I would like it to be colorful and inviting.
