Your generosity has provided our pre-k students with exciting opportunities to learn, grow, and build confidence through hands-on play.\r\n\r\nWe are using the new resources during outdoor learning time, incorporating the fine and gross motor equipment into our daily activities. The students are getting the opportunity to participate in these activities as they practice coordination, balance, patience, and perseverance. They also are learning to encourage one another and celebrate each other's accomplishments as part learning social-emotional skills.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the materials, they were thrilled and eager to explore. Their excitement quickly turned into curiosity as they tested each piece of equipment. It was great seeing some students confidently began right away, while others watched their classmates before trying. Eventually with encouragement, every child had the opportunity to participate and experience success. Our next steps are to continue expanding these fine and gross motor opportunities by connecting it to our current lessons on movement, health, and community. \r\n\r\nThank you for giving our students the chance to learn and grow through active play. Your support is helping them develop important physical, academic, and social-emotional skills while creating joyful memories outdoors. The folders and markers have already become part of our everyday routines. Having these materials readily available helps our students become more independent and take greater responsibility for their learning.\r\n\r\nOne of the most meaningful parts of this project is that our classroom environment is being built with our students, not just for them. They have been able to use these materials to contribute to displays, organize their own learning materials, and add their own work and creativity to our classroom. Seeing their ideas and work represented around the room gives them a sense of ownership and pride in the space where they learn each day.\r\n\r\nAs we continue through the school year, these resources will be used across subjects and projects to help our students stay organized, express their ideas, and actively participate in their learning. When I read through some of the art books with my students, that day almost the entire class wanted to go to the art center to create a collage like they saw in the Matisse book. \r\n\r\nThe students were excited when they saw the materials, their little smiles were priceless. Being in a preschool classroom, there are lots of materials and toys in our centers, but some of them are very well-loved and need to be replaced periodically.
