As mentioned before we live in a world where technology is everywhere. The iPads will put that technology right in their hands to enrich reading and math skills via games and apps that can be tailored to fit each student's needs/levels. Our classroom currently has NO technology. My students have "switches" at home and play x-box daily but most do not use their technology to facilitate learning. Parents are always asking me for suggestions on how to help their children. I always recommend games/apps that encourage learning. Children are tech savvy at an early age! Most of my students have some type of "tech" at home, but that tech generally is limited to games with no substantive education benefit. Showing them fun engaging educational games and apps on the iPads, will connect technology with the excitement and wonder of exploring the world in school and at hopefully home.
